Factory #3 : Rencontres d’Eté

La Chartreuse, Avignon (FR)

The 3rd version of the Shared Factory was especially conceived for the “Rencontres d’Eté” at La Chartreuse, during the festival d’Avignon 2010. Throughout the entire week, kom.post proposed, once or twice per day, new sets of discussions, designed with regards to the different topics approached during the festival (“documentation”, “cartography”, “writing in mutation….”).

From interdisciplinary tables interacting with each other using kom.post’s specific framework, to “walking conferences”, using mediated discussions where the participants are invited to communicate through platforms like facebook, twitters…experimenting a multimedia language different from normal speech… each of these “dispositifs” was invented in order to allow new relationships between artists, spectators, and theoreticians: all inhabitants of the same “here and now” of the festival.

1. The participants are seated at their designated tables, each of which has been composed by kom.post following a principal of heterogenity.

2. kom.post announces the general theme and the rules of the game.  The Factory lasts one hour and is punctuated by 3 sub-questions.

3. The different micro-groups begin work at their table.  The anonymous wall of discourse is progressively constructed using phrases and associations of ideas received via the microphones placed on each table.  Each participant can use this wall as a reference or as inspiration for the discourse going on at a specific table.
